Thought of the Day: Throughout the Star Wars story, the only non-Jedi to use a lightsaber is Han Solo when he slices up the dead Tauntaun in Empire to keep Luke alive. This being the only instance (in the film fiction) where a non-Jedi welds the weapon, begs the question why others haven’t caught on to the most bad-ass retractable laser sword available. Are light sabers just more difficult to obtain? Do you have to be a registered Jedi to order one manufactured? Is there a black market for these things? Why don’t more criminals get their hands on one and start shit? Is there a genuine respect and reverence for the weapon? How, in such a universe, are only two small sects proponents of such power? I know, despite my chemical makeup, I would extend myself beyond the legal or moral code to get my hands on one of these bad boys no matter what. You know Scarface would’ve picked one up.  Lightsaber - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
