The past few weeks have yielded some incredible life changes for me. It has truly been a situation where one week you’re saying “I have things figured out.” and 6 days later you are laying in bed, spread on your back, palms to the moon and talking out loud to yourself: “What are you doing?”

There are a couple of things I have certainly learned in the past few weeks though, they are as follows:

1. Nobody has a plan. We’re simply working on small projects one at a time. When one is completed, we’re free to move on to the next.

2. Some people will throw their own mother off a speeding train to keep their job.

3. No matter what your economic status, your living arrangement, or your perspectives on art, music, or religion: everybody has something to offer you. Whether it is simply a short story, or a new way to perceive life. Everybody can teach you at least one thing.

4. I’ve met 18 year olds that act like 26 year olds. I’ve met 29 year olds that act like 23 year olds. Age is simply a number. Maturity is the great divider between those who have experienced and learned, those who have experienced but fail to learn, and those who have not experienced at all.

5. Sometimes, all you need is a good Colin Hay song to get through the day.

6. I like love to talk about my life.

7. I don’t want to be a guy who simply has a story to tell. I want to create new ones, no matter how scary getting out there and letting them happen may be.

8. If you are trustworthy and earnest. You’ll always be loved.

Sometimes I think that too many people look at the world and pick out the beautiful, or the most fashionably clad, those with the most money, or those whom take over a room and we put these people on a pedestal. I know I do.

But I’m getting to the moment in my life, where instead of being the center of attention, or getting the girl who everybody is talking about, I’d like to just pull a wallflower and runaway to a place where we can talk about anything. And we are no longer part of something large, but we have become something new altogether.
