I can’t use internet on my iPhone - [Could not activate cellular data network]

Everytime I bring up ‘Mail’ or ‘Maps’ or anything really, I am greeted with this message:

Could not activate cellular data network

And then, predictably, nothing happens and nothing works. Meanwhile, I can still take calls/texts. This has never happened before. [I have tried using Airplane mode as well as shutting down and restarting the device - to no avail] Does anyone know what’s going on and how I can fix this?

[UPDATE: - oh thank god it’s back on. Thanks guys, I guess it just wanted a break.]

  4. spytap answered: My BB did that yesterday. I’m assuming you’re on ATT. Shut it down, pull out the SIM card, wait 30 secs, put everything back in, and restart.
  5. winstonwolfe answered: Do a “soft” reset of phone. If thats doesnt work then: sync with iTunes, backup phone info, and reset to original settings. Then restrore all
  6. vasta answered: Sometimes the network connection jams. Turning on+off airplane mode usually works. If not, turn off the iPhone and turn it on again. Voila.
  7. kevin answered: When I get that I activate airplane mode for a few seconds. Then turn off airplane mode and it will reconnect to cell towers. Usually works.
  8. shorterexcerpts answered: Jailbreak/unlock your phone and go w/ someone other than AT&T?
  9. terrormarie answered: Mine does that too, sorry I can’t help, but I am looking forward to your answers.
