Never a boring night in this town [if you love writers]

There is SO MUCH GOING ON and it’s ALL HAPPENING AT ONCE on a random Wednesday night in October. Here’s everything I want to do tonight:

• David Carr (NYT writer/journalist, author of Night of the Gun) and others, doing a reading at Happy Endings in the LES, 8pm.
• Jonathan Ames (writer/journalist, creator of HBO’s Bored to Death series) doing a reading at Powerhouse in DUMBO, Brooklyn, 7pm.
• Cassette from My Ex booklaunch + variety show with Housing Works at Bookstore cafe on Crosby st in SoHo, 7pm
• Bill Simmons (aka The Sports Guy on ESPN) is doing a book signing at Prof. Thoms in the East Village, at 7pm. [this is the winner]

Don’t miss Augusten Burroughs, reading on Monday night at the Union Square B&N (7pm) from his new book.
