AWESOME NYC subway map re-design (via gothamist)
Agreed. This does a great job of simplying things. The subway system made no sense to me for the first month and a half, but with the help of hopstop at first and then sheer trial and error, something clicked and I understood the languge implicit in A,B,C,D,E,F,G,J,L,M,Q,R,S,V,W,Z,1,2,3,4,5,6,7. Probably operating under an alchol-induced handicap navigating the subways in the wee hours of the morning where a lack of understanding the system held dire consequences for the traveler. Now it just makes sense to me, like I’ve cracked the code, and can use it against me. And now they’re going to charge me $6 more a month, like I have any other option for getting around.
Kick Map — if you email them they’ll send you a physical copy. It took a few weeks but I got one!
This map gives proper emphasis to the uselessness of the G train
