Wine Drunk

A good wine drunk comes in stages. At first, you’re sipping from a cup, enjoying its coolness on your palate and remarking on its aftertaste. Sometimes, these first sips beat out having a beer on a warm summer night. Soon, you’re feeling the wine’s effects, and enjoying that bubbly giggly feeling. This will be aided by drinking quickly, the rest of the bottle, as you’re feeling so well.

But this is a mistake. One bottle gone, yet to be hit with what’s coming, you open a second. It’s only a matter of time before the first bottle hits you full force. A wine drunk comes on strong and you can’t see it coming, like out running the bull only to have it turn the corner on you. Now you’re swilling from the second bottle, forgoing the glass altogether. The wine you’re consuming has consumed you and it takes over your body with unbridled reign. Nothing can stop it. You’re in full force, a drunk wino, always worse than a keg kicker, and rampaging, destroying everything in your path.

Then there’s the next morning. Nothing can wake you up and you don’t know how you got to sleep. There is no cure from a wine hangover - you just have to ride it out, like a torpedo primed to explode, taking you with it.
