Ten years ago I was:
Getting ready to graduate from the eight grade (middle school) with Presidential Honors. There was an ice cream social, a certificate “signed” by Bill Clinton, and the big move up the hill from middle school to high school. I was excited about the summer (mowing lawns) and terrified of training for freshman soccer (a 2 mile timed run?!)
Five things on today’s to do list:
- Survive work.
- See my apartment again.
- Edit a new video I made.
- Go out with my girlfriend.
- Pass out with money still in my bank account.
Things I’d do if I were a billionaire:
- Immediately call a car to take me to the airport. Not come home until I’ve hitchhiked on every continent.
- Call on various special friends, flying them out to join me for small stretches of my trip.
- Come back with pictures, stories, and a need to put it all into a book. Make that book.
- Buy an apartment in New York, where I want to be for as long as possible.
- Find someone to invest what’s left of my money so that there will be more money in the future to spend.
- Write, direct, act, and produce a movie I’m proud of.
- Establish myself as an expert in something I care about.
Three bad habits:
- Fiscally irresponsible.
- If I don’t do it as soon as I think about it, it rarely gets done.
- Still act like I’m in college, at times.
Places I have lived:
Most-recent first:
- Astoria, NY (2 years)
- King of Prussia, PA (hometown, 16 years)
- Chestertown, MD (college, 4 years, one summer)
- Pittsburgh, PA (birthplace, 6 years)
Six jobs I’ve had in my life:
- Marketing Assistant, Publishing Company
- Tour Guide, at my college
- Cashier, FYE, at KOP mall
- Janitor, at my elementary school
- Cashier, at Toys R Us
