I, for one, in all my 6.5 years standing on a NYC street corner waving foolishly and frantically never figured out what the cab lights meant. Andrea would always have to remind and explain to me that I was wasting my time when a cab was off duty. I, with my off-putting desperation to get home (what good is an expensive cab if I can’t get in one right away? If I wanted to wait, I could do that for free), would wave anyway, on the optimistic chance that a driver would want to take me to where I needed to go, regardless.
Well, now it no longer matters because by April, all cabs will say On/Off. Thank goodness.
