I really, really enjoyed Cop Out. Granted, I am also a biased observer, but I thought there were some incredible comedic moments, and thought that Tracy Morgan and especially Sean William Scott KILLED it. Yes it had some pacing issues and suffered a somewhat cliched storyline/villain, but it survived mostly awful reviews, and it appears that the film will open in the #2 spot with around $18 million. That is by far Kevin’s best opening to date, meeting with studio expectations. It is exactly what he needed to get some mojo back, and that mojo will result in his upcoming hockey comedy Hit Somebody starring Sean William Scott, who absolutely stole Cop Out right out from underneath Willis and Morgan. And that my friends will be a Kevin Smith movie from top to bottom, inside and out.
