"If Hunter Thompson is your favorite author, there's no telling what future encounters you may have with authorities of all sorts. Good luck for the rest of the semester." -Baird Tipson, president of my alma mater

Is flirting cheating?
I was involved in a heated discussion over this question last week at work.
Is it considered cheating if you flirt with a member of the opposite sex who is not your significant other?
To my surprise, the males consulted emphatically agreed that yes, flirting is most definitely cheating. The females consulted were split about 50/50 on the matter.
What do you think?

My flirting is innocent.  Most men, however, tend to view flirting with less innocence.  They take it seriously, which is why I have to sometimes fend off some creepy guy who won’t leave me alone.

I agree. I too get stuck trying to fend off some creepy guy. I am by nature a flirt. I don’t think that most flirting can be called cheating, and I do think guys take it mush more seriously than girls. However, there are those girls that will “stake a claim” on a guy and freak out if someone gets within five feet of their man.

Gray area, on the side of cheating. As someone that doesn’t pretend to be good at, understand, or enjoy “flirting” as an end means in itself, it’s dreadfully obvious and lame watching “taken” people engage in it. Everyone else is awkwardly looking around asking: “isn’t s/he with someone?”
