I saw The Place Between the Pines on Sunday and it was an incredible film-watching experience. It’s so densely packed, with three acts that would have been separate shorts in a lesser director’s hands, but felt like an expansive novel, layered and complex and uniquely discomforting. The characters were so well acted, the story so human and unsettling, that I can’t talk to you about it until you’ve seen it. Do so.
