Possibly one of my favorite songs ever, and by far and away the best Walkmen song out there. Tell me Matt Barrick’s drumming isn’t anything short of brilliant.

Actually, no. Tell me you haven’t felt this ambivilance at least once in New York - you’re surrounded by one of the most exciting cities in the world, and somehow, nothing and nobody impresses you, and you could give a fuck who’s at what thing and where they’re going after and who’s at the after-after-party and she was there doing blow in the bathroom and you’re supposed to act impressed because back home, they don’t get celebrities doing blow in people’s apartments that you know through other people you know through people who you halfheartedly believe are your friends. Tell me you haven’t been beating at the wall, looking for some kind of salvation from the bullshit that comes with having an unfortunate night of astute clarity.

If you haven’t, then maybe this song isn’t for you.
